TreviPay is a global B2B payments company that facilitates transactions for customers in over 190 countries. TreviPay’s embedded payment solution helps businesses enter new markets and become truly global by streamlining their payments and improving cash flow.

In 2021, Tapas Samantaray, the then Director of Product and Technology at TreviPay, needed an online testing solution that would bring objectivity into the hiring process and allow the hiring team to test for a wide range of skills.

Challenges

Prior to implementing TestGorilla, TreviPay’s hiring team relied on interviews to evaluate candidates. Final hiring decisions were made based on applicants’ interview performance and hiring managers’ subjective assessments of their skills.

They were limited by the lack of a standardized hiring procedure and felt that the set of questions they were asking was too narrow to allow them to adequately assess applicants’ abilities and potential.

For this reason, Tapas wanted to build a completely objective assessment process that would allow the team to accurately test applicants’ skills and knowledge across multiple subjects and hire the best candidates from their talent pool.

Solution

Tapas was able to try out TestGorilla with a couple of free assessments. After considering his options, he decided to implement the platform into TreviPay’s hiring process.

He was impressed with:

  • The variety of available skills tests

  • The platform’s comprehensive anti-cheating measures

  • The ability to combine multiple tests in one assessment

  • The option to add custom questions to tests

He also liked that the assessments were short and easy to set up and administer.

TreviPay has now implemented a three-stage recruitment process consisting of an initial screening interview, TestGorilla’s assessment, and a meeting with the hiring manager.

This has allowed Tapas and the team to conduct multiple assessments in parallel and speed up hiring significantly.

Results

With TestGorilla, TreviPay’s hiring team had been able to bring objectivity into the hiring process, enhance its efficiency, and make hiring decisions faster.

The team was able to accurately evaluate candidates’ skills and knowledge in different areas and assess multiple candidates at once. TestGorilla’s anti-cheating measures also helped the TreviPay team make sure all applicants got a fair chance.

TestGorilla had enabled TreviPay to scale their recruitment process and increased the probability that they will find the perfect match for each role.
